The Washington Park District is an independent municipal corporation organized under the laws of the state of Illinois in 1968. It is governed by an elected five member Board of Commissioners.
The Washington Park District has more than 260 acres in 14 community, neighborhood or specialized areas. The park district also features 11 miles of the Washington Recreational Trail that now connects most of the community.
The Washington Park Pool is another great feature with three pools including a zero-depth interactive play pool. The pool season runs from the first weekend after Memorial Day through the last weekend before school begins in August. Daily or season passes are available as well as swim lessons and pool rentals.
The acquisition of the old Washington Middle School allows the Park District to offer a full variety of recreation programs including: tumbling, fitness, before and after school care, day camp, playgroups and pre-kindergarten to name a few.
Three program guides featuring all the seasonal programs are distributed to residents the first weeks of April, August and December. The website also features online registration to provide a convenient way to register but also includes additional information.
The Washington Park District is also one of the “five” points at Five Points Washington. We use the facilities through a cooperative agreement to host our annual dance and tumbling recital as well as many other special events, swimming programs and basketball and volleyball programs.

Protect Our Parks…..
Help us care for the parks and property by taking pride in all of them. If you see playground equipment that needs attention or any other park problems, please call the Park District at 444-9413. Hundreds of dollars are spent each year on vandalism repairs throughout the District. Remember the parks belong to you and it only makes sense to save your dollars. Any acts of vandalism should be immediately reported to the Washington Park District or the Washington Police Department.
